Temporary Tattoos - FAQ

Q: How are the tattoos applied?
A: Tattoos are applied with airbrush at low air pressure.

Q: What types of paint are used?
A: We offer two choices; water soluble and waterproof.

Q: Are the paints safe for application on the skin?
A: Yes - all paints are made from FDA approved materials.

Q: How long do they last?
A: Water soluble paints typically last 1 - 3 days. Depends on skin type. Waterproof paints typically last between 2 days and 2 weeks depending on skin type.
Both will break down from your own natural oils.

Q: Can they be removed?
A: Water soluble paints are easily removed with soap and warm water. Waterproof paints come off with baby oil or rubbing alcohol and a bit of rubbing.

Q: How long does it take to apply?
A: A single Show Offs artist can produce between 40 and 60 high-quality tattoos per hour. We recommend multiple artists for large events.

Q: Will they last in a pool party?
A: Yes - we offer waterproof paints. Water soluble will not.

Q: How large a group can you handle?
A: Our record to date is 1.3 million at an art show over the course of a weekend.

Q: Do you use multiple colors?
A: Yes - Show Offs typically has 6 - 10 airbrush guns loaded and ready. With layering, color choices are virtually unlimited.

Q: Can I do anything to preserve the tattoo for longer?
A: Yes - Tattoo placement is the key to longevity. Avoid sweaty areas like lower back, face, stomach, and neck.

Q: What is the best place for tattoos?
A: For longevity, place tattoos on typically “dry” areas like the forearm and calf.

Q: How many designs are available?
A: Show Offs has over 450 unique designs. We make custom designs too! Got a company logo? We can replicate it. Private events we usually bring 80-100 designs to avoid those long decisions.

Q: How much space does Show Offs need to work their magic?
A: A Show Offs “stand” and one artist requires only about 6’ by 6’. Just be sure to have room for the line and all the spectators.

Q: Is electricity needed?
A: No - we use either a compressor or CO2. Results are the same either way.

Q: How long does it take to setup and tear down?
A: It’s simple; 20 to 30 minute each.
